Bob Stewart MP

Member of Parliament for the Beckenham Constituency

Bob Stewart has served as the MP for the Beckenham Constituency since the 6th May 2010. 

Bob was educated at RMA Sandhurst and the University of Wales, spending 26 years as an Army officer reaching the rank of Colonel.  Over that time he completed seven tours in Northern Ireland and led the first British soldiers into Bosnia as British UN Commander - for which he was awarded the DSO.  Thereafter, in civilian life, he worked in private business.  

Bob is married with children attending local schools, two of whom are enthusiastic members of the Bromley Youth Music Trust and one who plays rugby for the Beccehamians at Sparrows Den. He lives in the constituency and commutes to Westminster by train.

MP Calls on Southeastern to be more Transparency in Service Reinstatement Decisions

Beckenham’s Member of Parliament, Bob Stewart, has called on Southeastern Railways to be more transparent in how decisions are taken as to when local services will be reinstated. While services between Beckenham Junction to London Victoria have now returned to pre-pandemic levels, the operator has not committed to reinstating the rush hour direct services to London Blackfriars, something the local Conservatives are campaigning for.

Bob Stewart celebrates success of Eat Out to Help Out scheme in Beckenham

More than 117,000 meals were claimed in Beckenham under the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme, according to the latest statistics. In total, more than 100 million meals were claimed across the UK under the scheme, which ran throughout the month of August. In total, 84,700 establishments signed up to the scheme, including 89 in Beckenham
