Deputy Leader of Bromley Council | Councillor for Hayes & Coney Hall
Peter Fortune is a Councillor for Hayes and Coney Hall ward and holds the Education Portfolio. He has been involved in the Boroughs successful ‘Friends’ organisations and has also worked in Housing, Health and Public Protection. He is married to a Primary School teacher and has two wonderful children who are never ready for school on time.
Graham Arthur is a semi-retired Accountant who has lived in the Borough all his life, has three grown up children and his wife works in the third sector. He held senior positions in multi national PLC's before becoming Member for Hayes and Coney Hall in 1998 and is Portfolio Holder for Resources. In his leisure time he rides horses, is a passionate believer in music therapy and can walk on stilts.
Cllr. Nicholas Bennett JP has represented West Wickham since 2006. He is Chairman of the Education, Children and Families Select Committee. His public service started with 8 years on Lewisham Council and continued as MP for Pembroke and a government minister. For the past 20 years he has been a JP sitting as a magistrate on the South West London bench. He has degrees in Philosophy and management from the Universities of London and Sussex and has been deputy head of a secondary school and Chief Executive of the Association of Consulting Engineers. He lives with his wife Ruth and two cats in Bromley. His interests include; history, transport, cinema, swimming and gardening.
Peter Dean has lived in the London Borough of Bromley for over 30 years and has represented Kelsey and Eden Park as ward Councillor since 2002. Predominantly interested in Planning Peter is currently Chairman of Bromley's Development Control Committee and also sits on 2 plans sub-committees. He has also served as a school governor for the Unicorn School and Kelsey Park Sports Academy before it became Beckenham Harris. Peter is a full time civil servant and in his limited spare time plays golf to a poor standard.
Hannah Gray has been proud to represent West Wickham as a ward councillor since 2014. She grew up in East Sussex and moved to South London over 20 years ago whilst study Singing at Trinity College of Music ultimately becoming a professional Opera Singing and TV presenter. Hannah feels passionately about giving something back to the community; particularly protecting the environment along with supporting the young and the elderly within our community. She has spent time on the Care Services PDS committee, is currently on Public Protection and Safety as well as the Fostering/Adoption Panel and was delighted to be appointed Executive Assistant to Cllr Morgan portfolio holder for Renewal and Recreation.
Dr David Jefferys is Councillor for Bromley Common and Keston Ward. He is chairman of the Bromley Health and Well Being Board and sits as an observer on the Bromley and SE London CCGs.He is also a member of the Care Services, the Health Scrutiny and the Environment Committees of the Council, along with SACRE (the Standing Committee on Religious Education).He has championed the Shortlands Street Scene Pilot and also Dementia Care.
Russell has served the Copers Cope Ward since 1998 and previously for Bromley Common and Keston Ward from 1978 until 1986. Russel is the lead Member for Ward planning matters, currently serving on two Planning Committee's. Russell has also served on Senior Positions within the Council, he is currently involved in the future planning designations for the Borough through his Membership of the Local Development Advisory Framework Panel formulating the Local Plan. Russell is married with two sons, both of whom were educated within the Ward.
Alexa was born in 1969 and has lived in Bromley all her life. She was educated at a girls’ private school in Bromley and holds degrees from the University of East Anglia and University College London. A qualified librarian, Alexa works as a Business Information Executive at the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the City of London. She has represented Bromley Common & Keston Ward since 1994. She is well known locally and has a reputation for getting things done.
Neil has served as a local Councillor for Hayes and Coney Hall since 1998. He has a long association with the area, having been born in Mason's Hill, spent part of his childhood in Hayes and lived for a number of years near Hayesford Park.Neil has served as a Cabinet Member for Leisure & Culture, Community Safety and Resources, and is now Vice-Chairman of the Education Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee. Neil is dedicated to putting Hayes and Coney Hall first and, with his two colleagues, ensure that the ward 'punches above its weight' on the Council.
Michael Tickner is an experienced and active local Councillor who has represented Copers Cope residents for a number of years. He lives off Court Downs Road and commutes to London from Beckenham Junction every day.He has wide experience of Planning and Traffic Management issues, and is currently Chairman of the Beckenham Town Centre group which has successfully led the bid to secure £4.3m funding for a major public realm improvement. New sign posts and litter bins have already appeared in the High Street.
