Councillor for Beckenham Town & Copers Cope ward

Michael Tickner is an experienced and active local Councillor who has represented Copers Cope residents for a number of years. He lives off Court Downs Road and commutes to London from Beckenham Junction every day.He has wide experience of Planning and Traffic Management issues, and is currently Chairman of the Beckenham Town Centre group which has successfully led the bid to secure £4.3m funding for a major public realm improvement.  New sign posts and litter bins have already appeared in the High Street.

Council Investing £2.6 Million In Kelsey Park Works

Councillors in Beckenham have welcomed a decision by Conservative-run Bromley Council to invest £2,567,000 in improving the very popular Kelsey Park. The money will be used to replace one of the wooden footbridges and to desilt the lake in the park. The news comes as the Council also launched a new page on its website to make it easier for users of the park to keep updated on the progress made with replacing footbridge.

Councillor Challenges Southeastern on Hayes Line Carriage Reduction

Hayes & Coney Hall Ward Councillor, Thomas Turrell, has written to Southeastern Railways to challenge the operator about an apparent reduction in the number of carriages on its trains from Hayes to Charing Cross since the timetable change in December 2022.

Bob Stewart Calls for Immediate Reinstatement of Cannon Street services to prevent future London Bridge Chaos

Member of Parliament for the Beckenham constituency, Bob Stewart, has written to both the Managing Director of Southeastern Railways and the Secretary of State for Transport to call for the immediate reinstatement of the Cannon Street services from Hayes. This followed two emergency evacuations at London Bridge in January due to overcrowding.

Tennis Courts across the borough are set to receive thousands of pounds worth of investment to restore the courts, improve security and enable online bookings. Only the Conservative Group at City Hall voted against the move.
